17th Anniversary Present Facts:-

  • Traditional Gift: None listed
  • Modern/ Contemporary Gift: Furniture
  • Flower: None listed
  • Gemstone: Citrine and Amethyst

First, the not-so-good news. The 17th wedding anniversary has very little by way of a guide to make for that stress-free gift shopping. The good news. Your imagination can really gallop, unfettered by restricting water-tight ideas.

The silver lining – you at least have two solid starting points. The 17th wedding anniversary year has only a modern gift theme of furniture while the gemstones associated with it are citrine and amethyst. Plenty of scope for getting creative.

Furniture need not be dull or boring. If your budget does not allow a fancy dining table or a writing bureau, fret not. Scale down your range. A lovely rosewood pen stand would do just as well. Are there any old chairs lying around somewhere, or is her favourite recliner coming apart at the seams? After seventeen years, most of the furniture acquires a cosy, settled-in look anyway (like your marriage). Surprise her with a brand new upholstered recliner or chairs. And, if you have the money to splurge, a designer wardrobe or walk-in closet would be superb.

Citrine is said to be a wonderful cleanser and is great for overall emotional well-being. Amethyst is also believed to induce emotional and inner strength. So you could opt for good-luck charm bracelets that have these stones.

Don’t forget the flowers! Like the 16th wedding anniversary, there are no specific flowers for the 17th year. So, take your pick – exotic blooms, traditional red roses or an eclectic bunch – symbolising the many hues of your marriage.
