Flowers by Anniversary Year

Men often wrongly assume that a dozen red roses are to be bought and given on every anniversary year. But, actually, there are customary flowers for all the first fifteen anniversary years and roses do not make their first appearance until the 15th anniversary! Thereafter, roses do make an ideal stand-in for the years when no specific flower is listed. But, then again, nothing says it should be roses. If she has a different favourite flower, you should feel free to improvise on her anniversary. Watch out for the decades and half decades after the first 15 anniversaries; there tend to be specific flowers for these years.
